resolutions

Ryan and I spent New Year's Eve watching Hancock, which we deeply regretted. We then watched the Carson Daly/Dick Clark coverage. Carson Daly is like a benign tumor; he sort of bugs you but he isn't really doing any harm. Dick Clark, on the other hand, made me very aware of my own mortality, instilling a fear in me for the coming year. Time to retire, Dick.

I usually suck at resolutions, especially ones involving weight loss, but here goes:

1. Complete a triathlon.
2. Set clearly defined boundaries and stick to them in all aspects of my life.
3. Lose 10 pounds.
4. Stop cussing in front of the kids. This will be very hard in, say, traffic.
5. Read more.

Ryan says New Year's resolutions are bullshit. We'll see what he thinks when I'm reading a book while I sprint my last laps of the triathlon in the pool, 10 lbs. lighter than I used to be, yelling "bananas" when the person in the lane next to me wins.

Yes, I will agree that the movie HANCOCK was a disappointment.
I do think the guy Jason Bateman was a hoot.

Although my husband and I saw it as a "double date" with our middle son and his new fiancee.
We had supper, the movie, walking on a nice summer evening, ice cream, and photos.

I guess it isn't the activity, it's the good company.

I'll send good vibes about the cussing. Working in public schools, I have learned to really watch my word choices while trying to set a good example.

Good for you! I love having goals and resolutions. Sadly Joe thinks that they are bullshit as well...it is almost like Joe and Ryan should be best friends or something...

I made a resolution to lose weight this year and I've already lost 6 lbs in 8 days!! Now I'm more determined than ever.....I love anything that Will smith is in! Including Hancock! Let me know how that"bananas" thing works out for ya'! We lookin' to maybe move to Queens 'cause our lease is up Feb. 1st. I'm not real crazy about the idea, but I am warming to it. A little. Ok, I hate the idea! But whatcha gonna do? We are tired of roomates as much as we dig our current one. We want a place by ourselves.
Kids are like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna get! Love you all.....Uncle Mike
